Amazing Evening Sky

It was a cloudy weekend two weeks back. Black cloud covered Ottawa city like an umbrella. My wife said "wow!" looking out of the big window from the hall. The sun was about to say bye and his magical colours beamed over the clouds just for few minutes. I acted quick to catch those amazing skies on my camera...

Tulip festival in Canada.

The Canadian Tulip Festival, said to be the largest of its kind, is celebrated around first three weeks of May. During Second World War, Holland's exiled royal family was given a safe heaven in Canada. In appreciation of this help and also in recognition of the role played by Canadian troops in the liberation of Netherlands, Princess Juliana of the Netherlands presented Ottawa with 100,000 tulip bulbs. The most interesting part is; during their time in Canada, Princess Juliana gave birth to Princess Margriet at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. The maternity ward where she was born was officially declared as a temporary part of the Netherlands, so that the new born Princess stays a Dutch citizen. From past six decades, Tulip Festival is celebrated to rejoice this symbol of International friendship.
Nearly 3 millions tulips are planted in and around Ottawa this year. Parliament Hill, Major's Hill Park and Commissioners Park are the three major areas of attraction during this festival.
